Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio there are state chapters in several other states across the country which hold monthly meetings, provide support, advocacy and court accompaniment. Many POMC Chapters publish their own newsletters and have designed and implemented special programs to meet the needs of survivors in their area. Unfortunately, South Carolina has consistently been in the top ten and there doesn’t seem to be much progress being made utilizing standard operations found in organizations and shelter systems across the state. In 2004, Liza Ellen Warner’s death was one which contributed to the above mentioned statistics. Our guest for the hour, Leslie Peterson, is the Program Coordinator for the Kids and Teens in Court program at the Chadwick Center for Children & Families in San Diego, CA.
