The world’s largest mystery writers convention, Boucheron 2015: Murder Under the Oaks, will be held this year from October 8-11 in Raleigh, North Carolina and features noted authors from around the world for its 46th year. Author Diane Fanning is scheduled to be featured  during the event and will be available to talk to fans and sign books. Bouchercon is the world’s finest annual crime fiction event, bringing together more than 1,000 authors, fans, publishers, reviewers, booksellers, editors, and every other part of the community for a fantastic four-day event. Bouchercon’s events are packed with panel discussions and other programs to encourage interaction between authors and readers. The convention is open to the public and readers are encouraged to attend to meet their favorite authors, as well as writers who wish to learn from several sources about all that goes in to publishing their works. Diane Fanning Signing Books in the Atomic Secret City

On Saturday, December 6, 2014 Diane Fanning will be a guest of the American Museum of Science and Energy signing copies of her latest novel, SCANDAL IN THE SECRET CITY, from 2-4pm Eastern. The museum is located at 300 S Tulane, Oak Ridge, TN. Scandal in the Secret City Eastern Tennessee is an area filled with the beauty of the Great Smokey Mountains, clear creeks, and vibrant cities like Knoxville and Chattanooga. In 1942 the US Government selected a rural area between the ridges to create the “Secret City,” Oak Ridge. The location was quickly built to develop materials for the Manhattan Project and the purification of uranium for use in the bomb that eventually fell on Hiroshima. The population rose from around 3,000 to 75,000 by 1945 as workers were recruited for employment not knowing what the specifics of their jobs would be, and not knowing where they were going. Diane Fanning Featured at Crime Lab Detective Exhibit

  On Saturday, October 11, Diane Fanning will be making a special appearance from 10:30am-12:30pm (Central) as part of the Crime Lab Detective Exhibit at Donald W. Reynolds Library located at 300 Library Hill, Mountain Home, Arkansas. The exhibit is sponsored by Friends of the Baxter County Library and runs from September 27 – November 2, 2014. In Crime Lab Detective visitors are the lead detectives. They are challenged to examine the various clues, such as cloth fiber on a picket fence and tire marks, which will be useful in solving the crime. Families are encouraged to approach the exhibit as a team while students may explore it on their own or in groups. Forensic Science concepts such as the study of fingerprints, chromatographs, DNA, insect lifecycles, tire marks, hair analysis, thread comparison and handwriting analysis are all covered in their pursuit of the culprit. The first book in Diane Fanning’s new fiction series, SCANDAL IN THE SECRET CITY ( November,2014) takes readers back to the dawning of the atomic age, World War II, the war to end all wars with the discovery of the atomic bomb.
