Pastor Neil Schori Keynotes at 6th Annual Walk With Therese at Dominican University

 6th Annual 5k “Walk With Therese” is In Honor of Therese Acheson Pender On March 16,2005 around 6:15pm Therese Acheson Pender was beaten to death by her estranged husband, James Pender, as she walked home after work from the Central Avenue Metra station in River Forest, IL. Therese had recently filed for divorce from her husband, James, in December 2004. At the time of her death Therese was living with friends and had an order of protection warning that her husband was a violent man. After years of abuse, she was attempting to move on with her life and start again but sadly she never got that opportunity. James Pender was found guilty of his wife’s murder and sentenced to life in prison. The annual “Walk With Therese” is organized by Samantha Satterhwaite and being held at Dominican University 7900 W. Division, River Forest, Illinois 60305 on Saturday, September 29 beginning at 10am CDT. Naperville Christian Church Welcomes Susan Murphy-Milano Sunday, June 24

Susan Murphy-Milano returns to the church where the revolutionary new tool for victims of abuse, the Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit (EAA), became a reality. Pastor  Neil Schori of Naperville Christian Church in Naperville, Illinois, invited Murphy-Milano to speak to the congregation, guests and friends, about what an important role the church has played in making a difference in the lives of several abuse victims who have found sound counseling and information from Pastor Schori over the last few years. Partners in the new site, Document the Abuse.Com, Neil and Susan have worked closely to provide the EAA and information to as many as possible through providing direct and indirect services to victims leaving an abusive relationship. Along with colleagues, Sandra L. Brown, MA and Attorney Holly B. Hughes, the site allows victims, as well as service providers, to learn about the EAA and how it impacts and saves lives. Gayle Crabtree Speaks to Over 300 at UMW Legislative Advocacy Day

On February 21, 2012, Gayle Crabtree opened the eyes of over 300 United Methodist Women to the facts about intimate partner violence and how the faith based community can become a part of the solution.  She was invited to be the keynote speaker at the annual United Methodist Women’s Legislative Advocacy Day in  Columbia, South Carolina. A question often asked of a large group is, “Do you know the name of your community’s shelter?” Many in all audiences do not know the name of that vital resource. Through her non-profit organization, Hope for Healing.Org, Gayle has been knocking on the doors of churches within the Methodist Church Conferences, as well as other denominations, for several years and has trained hundreds of pastors and church workers through personal and group training sessions as well as teleclasses for those who can not attend the sessions in person.
