Missouri Events sponsored by SEMO Search Dogs and Scott County Search and Rescue Susan Murphy-Milano will be the featured speaker at several events planned by Scott County Search and Rescue to benefit  ongoing searches for missing persons. Murphy-Milano will assist the organization in raising awareness and funds through a series of events planned in Cape Girardeau, MO. Susan Murphy-Milano is a nationally known specialist in the area of intimate partner violence, homicide prevention, and personalized safety planning. She is the author of three books, Defending Our Lives, Moving Out, Moving On, and Time’s Up which contains the revolutionary Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit©.  Recently the website, Document The Abuse.Com was launched housing information about the Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit© and how it benefits, not only victims of abuse, but first responders, prosecution of abuse cases, and individualized safety planning. The website also has information on how others can be trained and certified utilizing the model developed by Murphy-Milano. 1ST ANNUAL NIGHT WALK TO SHED LIGHT ON THE MISSING A 5K walk in memory  Joshua Hancock, to benefit The CUE Center for Missing Persons The walk will be on the Pittsburg State University campus, Pittsburg, Ks. Pre-registration will begin 4pm at the shelter in Gorilla Village which is directly behind the football stadium, This event is to both raise funds for the CUE Center for Missing Persons and public education regarding safety and missing persons. The education portion of this event is to both raise awareness of issues/advocacy of missing persons and personal safety education in hopes of possibly avoiding a future heartache. Fundraising Continues for Groundwork: Halloween Benefit Raffle

Saturday, October 29, beginning at 4:30 pm at the Hampton Inn Banquet Room in Bolingbrook, IL,there will be Halloween festivities for the whole family, including raffles for various gift baskets, face painting and temporary tattoos for the kids, a DJ spinning tunes, Halloween inspired baked goods, and door prizes.  A family themed event created to have fun while participating in a good cause. October 1 marked the beginning of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Guardian Angels Community Service agency’s domestic violence program, Groundwork, kicked off the month with a 5Kwalk honoring victims of abuse.  Team Missing Stacy Peterson participated and has continued collecting donations for the agency along with other teams.  Ending the Awareness Month, all of the teams will unite as team “We Are One” and have organized a final fundraising event on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Hampton Inn in Bolingbrook, IL.
