Norma Peterson Named Executive Director of Document the Abuse

Victims of intimate partner violence benefit from Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit (EAA) Norma Peterson, sister-in-law of missing Bolingbrook mother, Stacy Peterson, has been named Executive Director of Document the Abuse which houses the work of the late domestic violence advocate Susan Murphy Milano, specifically, the Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit (EAA). Peterson worked directly with Chicago native Murphy Milano behind the scenes during her family’s high profile case and since its conclusion is able to become a public spokesperson for the safety of abuse victims.  As Executive Director, Peterson will be working with other experts to train and certify providers to catapult the EAA into a network of assistance for victims of abuse. Launch of Document the Abuse Campaigns for Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Document the Abuse (documenttheabuse.com) is gearing up awareness campaigns for October  to coincide with National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Campaigns will be launched across all social media channels as well as through outreach to individuals and community organizations. Pastor Neil Schori of Naperville Christian Church in Naperville, Illinois has developed a campaign that will address the faith-based community and it’s role in assisting victims of intimate partner violence.  (safefaithcommunity.com) Schori hopes to encourage leaders to become safe havens for victims of abuse and to duplicate what he has set up in his home church. According to Schori, “Victims often have limited resources available to seek immediate and long-term help when leaving an abusive relationship, especially those considered high risk. We have established a system of counseling and referrals, along with assisting victims in preparing an Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit (EAA), which we intend to bring to other church leaders.” The EAA was developed during the high-profile disappearance of Stacy Peterson when Schori, who was Peterson’s pastor, was approached by intimate partner violence prevention activist, Susan Murphy-Milano. Sandra L. Brown and the Reality of Inevitable Harm Through NEW Documentary Project

  A woman retells her experience after being ensnared by highly pathological man and suffers the consequences. Sandra L. Brown, MA CEO of The Institute for Relational Harm Reduction is going to be involved in a new documentary called ‘Inevitable Harm’ which is taken from the subtitle of their book Women Who Love Psychopaths Inside the Relationships of Inevitable Harm. Brown is teaming up with a survivor of a harmful relationship, TV producer, and documentary producer in this public pathology education endeavor. She will be in Key West filming the documentary, TV show, a community lecture by The Institute, and a mental health professionals training. The documentary, Inevitvable Harm,  will be far reaching. One of the primary goals of The Institute is public pathology education and Brown has continually participated in various documentaries and media opportunities that help reach the public with education.
