Neil Schori Keynote Speaker at “Take Back the Night” Event

Outspoken and passionate anti-domestic violence activist, Pastor Neil Schori, has been invited by the Will County, IL Take Back the Night event to be the keynote speaker for their October 3rd event. October is the national Domestic Violence Awareness Month and events are planned across the country to bring awareness to the pandemic of violence in the hope that it can be curtailed. Neil Schori helped create the Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit working with the late Susan Murphy-Milano.  The Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit is outlined in Murphy-Milano’s book, Time’s Up: How to Safely Leave an Abusive and Stalking Relationship. Pastor Schori has been instrumental in the establishment of Document the Abuse along with Murphy-Milano’s colleague, Sandra L. Brown, M.A. of The Institute for Relational Harm Reduction headquartered in North Carolina. Pastor Neil Schori has created a program within Naperville Christian Church which has been highly successful in assisting victims of violence with the creation of their personal safety plans, the Evidentiary Abuse Affidavit, and, if necessary, providing safe houses in emergency cases. Through Document the Abuse and it’s subsequent certified training, Schori will bring this plan to others in the faith …

They want to know many things, including “how does this happen?” Dottie Laster of Laster Global Consulting and the Bernardo Kohler Center will be on hand for the hour to answer questions and  impart important information …

Cruz Former Connecticut State Victim Advocate, Michelle S. Cruz was still in office when the tragedy in Newtown’s Sandy Hook Elementary School took place.  United Way was designated as the place to donate for the benefit of the victims and their families, however, the money has still not been disbursed as of this date. “These families have been through enough.  they shouldn’t have to make complaints about the disbursements of the funds; to fight for the funding so they can take time off from work to deal with their grief.  We’re talking about a horrific tragedy, and instead of dealing with the aftermath, they’re  out trying to get money that was gathered for them,” Cruz said.
