  Amy Susan Crohn is honored to receive The Next Generation Indie Book Award as a finalist in the Memoir (Overcoming Adversity/Tragedy/Challenges) category for her debut book, DYING TO LIVE, Running backwards through cancer, Lupus and chronic illness. “I Told You I Was Sick”  A story of  discovery and  growth through catastrophic illness The Hyde Park Free Library in Hyde Park, New York will host a presentation and book signing Thursday, April 24, 2014, at 7pmET. Amy Susan Crohn will appear to give the presentation, “I Told You I Was Sick!” based on her recently released book, DYING TO LIVE: Running backwards through cancer, Lupus, and chronic illness. Her event is combined with a book signing, as well as a tour of the Memorial Exhibition of the art of her brother Steve Crohn. Recently deceased and the subject of a New York Magazine feature, Steve Crohn is well-known for his post war, modernist paintings in the abstract style. The Memorial Exhibition runs through April 30th. Another way for authors to connect with readers in the digital age. Although not quite as personal as physically shaking hands or listening to a reading, e-book owners can still have a personalized message from the author in their e-book with Kindlegraph. The technology is straightforward enough — readers sign in using Twitter, and select the book which they would like ‘signed’ (authors, or their publishers, have to opt in to have their books featured). The request is then forwarded to the author who — using Docusign‘s API — can write a short message and digitally sign it.
