Donna R. Gore, M.A.
Donna R. Gore’s experience in crime victim advocacy began with the 1981 murder of her father. Her personal experience through the judicial system inspires her to reach out to others in similar situations. She continues to transform a negative situation into a positive approach to life through personal consultations with other victims and assists them through their own traumas. She specializes in development of support resources, escorts victims to trials, and educates the public through utilization of several media outlets.
To assist victims, Gore pursues her passion by participation in several victim assistance organizations, including Survivors of Homicide, Inc. and the National Organization of Victim Assistance (NOVA). In this capacity, she is able to facilitate support groups as well as perform as the director of fundraisers, sponsor programs, and coordination of events.
Donna Gore created a service program for crime victims and offers her assistance in creating a cohesive victim impact statement tailored to the individuals and their cases. She recognizes that this could be of great value to not only the crime victim, but to the court system as well. Victim Impact Statement Assistance
By using Gore’s services a crime victim can be coached on how to best present their victim impact statement. From her vast experience volunteering in the courtroom, she is able to act as a liaison with advocates who may not have the same experiences. Working with the court advocates, attorneys, and prosecutors, not only will the crime victims’ voices be heard, they will be presented professionally, courteously, and effectively.
Donna R. Gore participates in the creation and proposal of legislation benefitting those with medical health care and disabilities in the State of Connecticut. With over 20 years of clinical experience in diagnosis and treatment of adults with disabilities and eldercare priorities, Gore dedicates herself to the human spirit and the ability to overcome.
She is a highly skilled speech-language pathologist whose focus is on adults with severe cognitive disorders within institutional settings, and is employed as a Human Services Advocate/Case Manager at the Connecticut Services for the Blind. She commits herself to her clients and is resourceful at finding services to meet their needs.
Utilizing her skills, experience and education, she is capable in a position as Project or Program Management in Healthcare, Crime Victim Advocacy, Higher Education, and Government. Donna R. Gore is a noted national speaker and presenter who shares her expertise at conferences and presentations.
Donna Gore’s récent volunteer positions include being appointed the State Outreach Coordinator in Connecticut for CUE Center for Missing Persons. She is also an expert trainer and presenter for OVC TTAC through the Department of Justice on topics of crime victims’ rights, victim impact statements, and rights of the disabled.
She has hosted the popular internet radio show, Shattered Lives, which offers discussion about various topics related to crime victims and the impact of crime on their lives in the aftermath. She has presented countless professionals and experts as guests.
