Knoxville, TN Churches Becoming Proactive Against Predators

Gayle Crabtree, Nationally known speaker on sexual assault and domestic violence, is the wife of a Pastor in the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church.    Last year Gayle held a mandatory domestic violence training session for approximately 600 pastors and staff within the conference. Gayle and her organization, Hope For Healing.Org, are always available to church leaders, as well as mainstream organizations, to speak and train about all aspects of abuse and offering solutions and ways to walk a path to healing and becoming whole. Ever vigilant and watching for items to report, both bad and good, Gayle brings this report about the churches in Knoxville, TN that she is familiar with and shows us that, yes, the faith based community must be proactive against predators in their midst.  Kudos to those churches who have policies in place to screen potential staff members, as well as those who will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.
