Word of Mouth (WOM) Everything Old Becomes New Again

written by Administrator

Word of mouth marketing

Does it seem like the digital age has developed more ways to analyze, digitize and sanitize all aspects of human existence, especially the buying public?

Notice within the marketing sector where there are new ways to dissect every statistic, down to the end user taking money from his pocket and spending on a new sprocket, there always appears a new game-changing tactic.

Is it really necessary to know every aspect of the buying behaviors of each prospective customer or client? Or, isn’t it more effective to be sure that each client or customer is helping to spread the word of their positive experience.

Re-enter Word of Mouth (WOM)

Back in the day of Marketing 101 we learned that when a customer was happy with a product or service more than likely they would tell someone else. Their testimony is the start of a cycle that could make or break a business.

We’re still seeing the basics of Word of Mouth advertising done through social media platforms. Rather than gathering over the back fence, or talking over tea or coffee, the reputation of businesses is now built on whether they have “followers, likes, and fans.”

Word of Mouth (WOM) can influence the decision to buy

Analyze your own personal buying decision-making process. What is it that pushed you to the edge, brought you back, then gave you the final shove to the checkout?

More than likely it was Word of Mouth (WOM), the opinion of someone else that assisted you to, or away from, the decision to purchase. Now that we have instant access to reviews and commentary about a product, our decisions can be more quickly influenced.

Word of Mouth (WOM) in the Digital Age

Now we are entering an area of most value for those who do business on the web. Word of Mouth is very social, it involves engagement, or conversation, with others to get your point across. A business is wise to practice SEO and keyword strategies, however, even the best-ranked business website may not be making sales they should if they aren’t engaging with their current, and future, customers.

Social media has changed the landscape of Word of Mouth (WOM), and how that translates into sales is the stuff of marketing in the digital age. Social media marketing is one big Word of Mouth (WOM) delivered to prospects with laser speed.

Word of Mouth (WOM) is the most powerful tool in the marketing toolbox

Words have always held power. How that power is unleashed into the world of prospective customers is the delivery method advertising execs have been using for ages, which is one reason that traditional marketing practices should never be competing with online marketing strategies, but rather they should compliment each other.

With social media and it’s valuable marketing matrix, words become even more important in the customization of the delivery method, whether it be a well-placed billboard, press release, or taking the lead in a group or page on several social media platforms.

Unleash the Power of Word of Mouth (WOM)

The delivery of Word of Mouth (WOM) is found all over the web, in every social media platform, forum, and comment section. It’s wise to take advantage of those which best suit the purposes of your growing business or brand.
