Saturday, March 12, 2016 Blackhawk Technical College presents it’s Spring Employment Conference from 10am-3pm at North Commons, 6004 S. City Road G, Janesville, Wisconsin. The event is free and open to students and the public and is focused on helping improve skills in the job search or interview process.

Jillian Maas Backman and Jan Bilgen will feature a presentation titled “First 90 Days: Don’t Sink, Swim!” which is designed to get participants thinking and planning the steps to face the challenge of their first job.

The presentation will tap into a leadership style that uses intellect, experience and intuition to better understand professional relationship building by integrating established methods and adding the element of intuition to create balance.

Participants will also discuss strategic career planning and how to adjust to missteps those first critical 90 days and make them the most valuable to a new organization and step up to success.

Jan Bilgen is the Associate Director of Career & Leadership Development at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater campus and a professional speaker and presenter on topics of leadership and student development.
