Chong Kim is an Asian American survivor of human trafficking and child sex exploitation in the US, a harrowing experience she recounts in her memoir, Broken Silence, and in the film Eden, starring Jamie Chung, Beau Bridges, and Matt O’Leary. Kim’s memoir will change to the title In My Own Words to be released in fall of 2014 or spring of 2015.

Today, Kim is a dedicated human and civil rights advocate. A public speaker for nearly 10 years and recently promoted as an Advisory Board of ECPATNY along with other prestigious organizations globally, she works alongside those who are striving to end slavery and injustice and empower victims and survivors alike. Kim has been volunteering her time as a freelance legal advocate in various states to help identify possible victims of trafficking for, but not limited to: California, Georgia, New York, Texas and Minnesota as well as promoting human and civil rights. She uses her personal story to enlighten NGOs and political officials and reach out to trafficking victims.

Dottie Laster is featured in the documentary on sex trafficking in Latin bars and cantinas, The Cantinera, and her direct rescue work will be the subject of the MSNBC Documentary, Sex Slaves: Texas Rescue. She is the recipient of several human rights awards and has been featured in numerous publications including recent issues of Texas Monthly, Town Hall, and MORE Magazine.

Dottie Laster is the CEO of Laster Global Consulting which has consulted in several high profile trafficking cases, and has been directly and indirectly responsible for the rescue and restoration of hundreds of trafficking victims. The strong multi-disciplinary team has an established track record and provide project development, consultancy, and training resources in domestic and international trafficking.
