Hour #1 Gil and Dan Harrington

Crime Wire, Morgan Harrington,Dan and Gil Harrington

On October 17, 2009 the lives of Gil and Dan Harrington were forever changed when their beautiful daughter, Morgan, came up missing from a Metallica concert she attended in Charlottesville, VA.  The country took notice, assistance poured in from all over, but her lifeless remains were not found until January, 26, 2010 in a remote field on Anchorage Farm in Albemarle County, VA .  Morgan was taken from this world just as she was becoming a woman recognizing her potential.

For some, it might be the end of the story, a resolution, but until those who took Morgan Harrington’s bright light from this world are brought to justice, the Harrington family will continue to seek that the scales of justice be balanced. In the meantime, they carry on in Morgan’s name, carving her legacy into a world which will never know all that she had to offer.

They believe there is a possibility of a serial offender who has been striking down young women in an area surrounding Rt. 29 in Virginia for quite some time. Could DNA hold the key? It’s been over 4 years since Morgan was murdered, yet there has been no arrest, or stated person of interest, in her case and the cases of many other missing or murdered young women.

The Harringtons are building a legacy in Morgan’s name in several ways.  A scholarship has been set up at Virginia Tech where she attended, an educational wing is being built in Zambia by Orphan Medical Network International (OMNI), and a multi-media campaign titled “Help Save the Next Girl” to raise awareness about the vulnerability of young women to predators and to offer support to other victims’ families.

Help Save The Next Girl is aimed at educating young women about personal safety, encouraging community vigilance & providing resources for victim families.
