Cathy Scott joins Dr. Laurie Roth’s Wednesday True Crime Author segment to talk about several of her recent and upcoming projects, the release of Murder in Beverly Hills and the latest, UNCONDITIONAL HONOR: Wounded Warriors and Their Dogs, co-authored with photographer Clay Myers who worked with Scott on her previous book, PAWPRINTS OF KATRINA.

Cathy Scott is putting the finishing touches on her latest book, the biography of “Freeway” Rick Ross, a reformed drug kingpin from the 1980s who supplied crack cocaine to South Central Los Angeles an ultimately to other parts of the country. Ross’s supplier turned out to be an undercover DEA informant from Nicaragua who sent the funds back to supply the Iran-Contra army..

Murder in Beverly Hills:

Christmas Eve 2000 marked the day the lifeless body of Susan Berman, born to a Las Vegas mobster in 1945, was found in her modest home in a wooded neighborhood. Her three precious wire-haired fox terriers had been running in and out of her house, barking frantically. If the dogs – Lulu, Romeo, and Golda were trying to tell someone something bad had happened, it worked. The dogs were the only witnesses to her murder.

Growing up, Susan Berman’s childhood was idyllic. She was Las Vegas Mob royalty, the daughter of a Mob boss who ran the Flamingo and furnished his only child with anything money could buy. But halfway through her childhood, dream exploded. Susan’s father died without warning during a routine surgery. Then, Kathie disappeared and Susan stood by her best friend Robert, despite suspicions that Durst had caused the demise of his wife.
