August 5-9 readers are treated to a FREE Kindle download of DYING TO LIVE: Running backwards through cancer, Lupus, and chronic illness by Amy Susan Crohn.

Amy Susan Crohn not only survived a neglected childhood, she survived stage IV cancer and Lupus, a near death experience, and the ravages of chemotherapy and it’s aftermath.

Descended from a blended family, with two eccentric parents, and the legacy of being the grand neice of Dr. Burrill B. Crohn, a leading gastroenterologist whose work greatly advanced the understanding of ileitis -also known as Crohn’s disease at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Amy’s childhood was often filled with wonder and anxiety. The details of her childhood lead up to the crescendo, her body completely broken, and diagnosis of two life altering diseases at age 36.

DYING TO LIVE recounts Amy’s childhood and how events in her upbringing led to deadly disease and several medical emergencies in her adulthood. Not only is DYING TO LIVE Amy’s story and memoir, it is the story of countless millions of others suffering from chronic illness and no answer to why.

Although she survived it’s not without consequence, Amy Susan Crohn and her research show that much of chronic illness such as fibromyalgia, Lupus, and a myriad of auto immune system diseases can be traced to childhood maltreatment. Since it’s launch, DYING TO LIVE has been an inspiration to others who recognize their own experiences within the pages, not only with their personal childhood maltreatment and chronic disease, but how the medical community worked with (or against) them.

……it’s a story of what did happen (and obviously can again) within our medical community … what goes wrong and what goes right when you’re faced with catastrophic illnesses. AND, it ends with Amy’s current quest of learning how what happens to you as you are growing up can have a profound impact on your overall health. Did you know that studies that provide evidence that there IS a link from adverse childhood experiences (ACE) to later negative health issues in adulthood?…..Amazon review
