The goal of a non-profit is not success in terms of wealth, but in terms of the service they perform for others.
Whether a non-profit is well endowed, like the wealthiest non-profit the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, or struggling to get itself off the ground, the values should be the same, to serve others through selected services and contributions.
Jillian Maas Backman will talk about non-profits, some of the good, and not so good aspects of non-profits.
While most non-profits start up with lofty goals and good intentions, others are “in the business” to scam good people out of their hard earned money using unscrupulous means. Before you make donations, there are ways to determine whether if the non-profit which you feel may deserve your money is in good status. Check them out thoroughly. You may also confirm an organization’s status by calling the IRS (toll-free) at 1-877-829-5500.
Taking non-profits a step further, Jillian is devoting the month of July to featuring lesser known non-profits each week on the show, donating FREE airtime to the chosen organization with the hope of giving them more attention.
Jillian will feature one non-profit from the issues of Medical, Social, Children and The Arts on her radio show to give listeners information and help them become aware of the work that is involved by non-profits, most who are strictly volunteer. Nominate your favorite charity!
Host, Jillian Maas Backman, is running a contest from her Facebookpage starting Friday, May 31 through Saturday, June 15.
