Change Already! is taking a little diversion for the month of February and offering listeners a chance to hear and learn about “Soulful Songwriters,” Jillian’s personal friends and musicians. Artists will enlighten listeners about how they translate personal spirituality, empathic sensitivity and creativity into powerful music that transcends the soul.

Soulful Songwriter Series Part II

MIKE HIMBAUGH

Chicago-based musician/composer who has been playing guitar since the age of 20. Mike was instrumental in forming the band Hello Dave in the early 1990’s during his college years at Eastern Illinois University. After graduating Himbaugh made the decision to dedicate his life to music and successfully toured with the band throughout both America and world-wide.

I play music for a living…. Heaven. I’m so proud to have stood beside my band mates for so many years and create music that has become- as many have told me- ‘the sound track to their lives’. First dances, first dates and first babies has been our legacy.

The last couple of years Mike has been working solo composing upbeat lyrics that reflect a more personal side to his songwriting repretrarte, Chicago Soul Twang.

In 2012 Mike played alongside other well known artists including members from Three Dog Night and the . He also published his last works in a CD titled Radio Free Sunshine and a series of EP’s, the first is appropriately labeled “Purple.” www.himbaughmusic.com

……..one spring day in Chicago I sat down at my music desk and went into a daze. I was so peaceful. In that state the rest of the song spewed out of me in just a couple of minutes. I was floored by how easy it came out when I just LET it come out on it’s own (with a little help, perhaps, from some friends). It opened the flood gates to writing again!

Hope you enjoy purple. I think GREEN is coming next! Then again… maybe RED… or YELLOW. Rock On-
