Well known for her hands-on work with victims of violence, and through her previous books, HOLDING MY HAND THROUGH HELL is based on the true story of Susan Murphy Milano’s life, written with the flow of a novel, in a style that will incite heightened awareness about hope, survival, abuse, murder, and the ripple effect of family violence on society.

Released on October 4, 2012, Holding My Hand Through Hell was not an easy book to write, let alone live through the chaos in the life of the author, Susan Murphy-Milano.  Although she survived the homicide/suicide of her mother and father, she made the decision not to be another “victim” a word she hates, and a state of mind she never allowed herself to fall prey to.

Murphy-Milano’s life story is riveting, and readers will wonder how someone can go through so much turmoil and still come out on the other side of personal tragedy to continue her life’s work assisting victims of family violence.

A common thread throughout the story is a reflection on the life led by the author, one of taking great risk, often failing herself, but saving another. Her faith in God is continually challenged throughout each new disappointment, but somehow she finds a way out,  something stronger than herself moving her forward.
