BEYOND THE PEWS was a winner in the Spirituality category at the San Francisco Book Festival!
Catch up with Jillian Maas Backman at the Book Expo America in New York early June!
The topic of discussion on this week’s show is “Ole Wives’ Tales and Superstitions”
In some circles that means a bit of lore passed on by word of mouth, a belief, usually superstitious or erroneous, superstitious belief or story belonging to traditional folklore….. or is it? Other ole wive’s tales may be medicinal in nature, the study of roots and herbs that naturally heal the mind, body and spirit.
Examples:
There is an old wives’ tale that says that if you eat within an hour of swimming you will get cramp.
While carrots contain vitamin A which is good for healthy eyes, eating lots of them will do nothing to improve your vision.
Healing remedies considered Ole Wives’ Tales……long list HERE
Regardless if you “believe” or not, Jillian will be talking about some pretty bizarre old wives’ tales!
