A criminology and sociology professor at Drew University, Doc Bonn is not at all the average academic. For one thing he has much more personality! His research examines how and why the public forms its beliefs on complex issues such as murder, domestic violence, capital punishment, war crime and terrorism.

Connecting propaganda and distortion efforts by the Bush administration to garner public acceptance of the war in Iraq following the tragedy of 9/11, MASS DECEPTION explains how and why political leaders and the news media periodically create public panics that actually benefit both parties. Doc Bonn has developed a unique, integrated, and interdisciplinary theory called “critical communication” to explain how and why state officials and the news media shape public opinion on complex issues such as capital punishment and terrorism.
