Aspects of Writing: A radio show designed to showcase all aspects of the writing industry; novels, scripts, music, self-publishing and more.
As the author of several true crime books, including Surviving the Mob, Dennis Griffin has learned a lot of the “tricks of the trade,” so to speak. He will be appearing on the KLAV radio show, “Aspects of Writing” on Monday, March 12 at 9pm PT, to discuss manuscript evaluation and other writing related topics.
Every other week “Aspects of Writing”, Hosted by Author, James Kelly, will bring you an informative look at every aspect of the writing industry. Guests on the show will share what inspired them to write. Together, we will explore the creative side of writing and how to format your work. We will discuss where to go for guidance regarding editing, printing and how to distribute your work. If you are a scriptwriter, we will examine what it takes to get your work into script format and expose your work to agents or producers.
Along with others on the panel, Dennis Griffin will discuss his own personal experiences in breaking into the field as an author. A retired law enforcement officer, Griffin began his second career in writing in 1996 with fictional accounts of some of the crimes he worked on as an officer. After a move to Las Vegas, he began writing about the fascinating true accounts of the mob in Las Vegas, it’s history and the many players who are the subjects of his true crime books.
Interviews with former mobsters such as Frank Cullotta and Andrew DiDonato led Griffin and his books into the world of the mob from first hand accounts of those who lived it. He became involved in the creation of the newly opened Mob Museum in Las Vegas and currently is part of the Real Wiseguys, who provide real life ex-mobsters for your parties and events.
These Wiseguys are not actors. They are “REAL WISEGUYS” and associates. They were career criminals that were part of the Mafia, and who turned their backs on the organizations that once fueled their daily existence. The wiseguys that you will have at your event were active members of crews with New York’s Gambino, Colombo, Lucchese, Bonanno and Genovese crime families, and the Chicago Outfit. These “REAL WISEGUYS” are all researchable. Many of them have books out and movies and documentaries have been made about them and their exploits.
Griffin is also the host of his own radio shows, Crime Wire and Real Wiseguys, on the Inside Lenz Network. New shows are on the schedule starting Tuesday, March 13.
