Saturday, October 29, beginning at 4:30 pm at the Hampton Inn Banquet Room in Bolingbrook, IL,there will be Halloween festivities for the whole family, including raffles for various gift baskets, face painting and temporary tattoos for the kids, a DJ spinning tunes, Halloween inspired baked goods, and door prizes. A family themed event created to have fun while participating in a good cause.
October 1 marked the beginning of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Guardian Angels Community Service agency’s domestic violence program, Groundwork, kicked off the month with a 5Kwalk honoring victims of abuse. Team Missing Stacy Peterson participated and has continued collecting donations for the agency along with other teams. Ending the Awareness Month, all of the teams will unite as team “We Are One” and have organized a final fundraising event on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Hampton Inn in Bolingbrook, IL.
With funding and budget cuts for victims services, the community teams recognized the need to pull out all the stops to gather as many donations as possible in order to assist Groundwork in continuing offering services to victims of abuse and their families. By uniting all of the teams that were organized for the 5K walk, they all hope to gather more attention and donations.
