Friday, October 14, 2011 the family and supporters of missing college student, Donna Jou, will be gathering at 10:30am Pacific Time at 210 W. Temple Street (in front of Criminal Justice Building) in Los Angeles, California for a press conference observing Donna’s 24th birthday and to update the public about new information in the case.
On June 23, 2007, 19 year old college student, Donna Jou disappeared under suspicious circumstances from the home of three time convicted sexual predator, John Steven Burgess, located at 3617 Faris Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90034.. Earlier this year, Donna’s confessed killer, Burgess, was released from prison after serving 2 years of his 5 year sentence, then quickly remanded to Los Angeles County Jail on lesser charges. He will no doubt be eligible to be released back into society in the near future. The family feels there should be enough information and evidence to re-open the case and seeks a better measure of justice for their daughter and demands recovery of her remains.
Donna Jou’s disappearance has devastated, not only her family, but friends and the community at large. They hope that all supporters will come forward and participate by lighting a candle in honor of Donna’s birthday, and in honor of hope that she will soon be found. If you can’t make it, the family encourages people to light their own candle at home for Donna.
