Paul Bishop is an author and a high-ranking detective in the Los Angeles Police Department with the current rank of Detective III As a nationally recognized interrogator, Paul also co-stars with his professional partner, bestselling author and prosecutor,Mary Hanlon-Stone, as the regular interrogators and driving force behind the new hit ABC reality show Take The Money and Run from producers Bertram Van Munster and Jerry Bruckheimer.
The Los Angeles Times has called Paul Bishop “the closest equivalent of Joe Wambaugh yet,” and stated his novel, Hot Pursuit, “could hardly be better.” The New York Times proclaimed him a “first-class writer,” and called his Deep Water a “lively, bloody adventure.” Paul’s career has included a three year tour as an interrogator with the department’s Anti-Terrorist Division and over twenty-five years experience in the investigation of sex crimes.
For the past eight years, his various Special Assaults Units have consistently produced the highest number of detective initiated arrests and highest crime clearance rate in the city. Twice honored as Detective of the Year for his skills as an interrogator, Paul has also received the Quality and Productivity Commission Award from the City of Los Angeles.
Paul has also written feature film scripts and numerous episodic scripts for television, including such shows as Diagnosis: Murder, LA Dragnet, The New Detectives, and Navy Seals: The Untold Stories.
