This Sunday, October 24, Crime Time with Vito Colucci will feature the important topic of cyber bullying and teen suicide. The news is filled every day with stories of troubled teens and we, as a society, must find a way to help them before tragedy strikes. One way is to understand the issue, then get involved. Guests this week are Attorney Eugene Riccio and Sal Buchetto, a former teacher who mentors and coaches new teachers coming into the field.
What is cyberbullying, exactly? (from the site, Stop Cyberbullying)
“Cyberbullying” is when a child, preteen or teen is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen or teen using the Internet, interactive and digital technologies or mobile phones. It has to have a minor on both sides, or at least have been instigated by a minor against another minor. Once adults become involved, it is plain and simple cyber-harassment or cyberstalking. Adult cyber-harassment or cyberstalking is NEVER called cyberbullying.
Vito Colucci says, “This is our most important show yet! Learn about this growing problem occurring across our country!”
