Lisa Michels

“Survivors are like gold in the fight against pedophilia because we understand victims and pedophiles, and we have a determination to make the abuse stop so that not one more child goes through what we have,” says Lisa, who was sexually abused by a family member when she was three years old. The abuse continued for years, but her memories didn’t surface until she was married and her abuser moved in with her family. Though she couldn’t remember the abuse, Lisa became suicidal and confused, pushing family and friends away, and living in isolation and pain. It wasn’t until four days of intense on-air therapy with Dr. Phil on The Oprah Winfrey Show, that her memories began to surface.

She’s passionately committed to raising awareness about sex abuse and the reality of human trafficking and the sex trade, and to helping anyone speak up who suspects abuse. “This is the fight of my life,” says Lisa, “a fight I’m committed to winning.” The road to healing is a process that takes time, but her motivational presentations offer powerful self-healing techniques that aid in recovery.

Lisa’s fight to reclaim her personal power and her determination to never give up has led her to help others do the same. Today, she speaks to women entrepreneurs, helping them tap their own inner power, so they can set goals and achieve them. Her interactive presentations take you step by step from where you are now to where you’d like to be. Whether your group wants to increase awareness of sexual abuse and learn how to deal with it, or explore the limitless personal power we each have inside, Lisa Michels’ inspiring presentations offer solutions that bring more passion and focus into your life.

Lisa Michels’ passion for assisting victims led her to RAINN’s Speakers Bureau and also to a non-profit organization working to combat human trafficking and the sex trade, where she served as an Executive Board Member. Currently, Lisa works with organizations like Polaris Project and GEMS to educate and take action against human trafficking, and she’s the Founder of Surviving the Realities of Repressed Memories.

Lisa’s presentations are perfect for any group or organization that wants to know how to deal with sexual abuse openly and honestly, at home or in the workplace.

Lisa is an independent contractor as a Certified Prevention Specialist and an Authorized Stewards of Children Facilitator through the Darkness to Light prevention program.  She has developed a passion for educating parents and communities about the issue of child sexual abuse and prevention. She is available to travel throughout the US bringing this important and vital information to all.

Her upcoming book, The Child Within: Conditioned to Forget, will be released soon.

Lisa has recently completed training with Susan Levin and Speakers Services.
